What is traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)?

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a comprehensive medical system that has been practised for thousands of years. This type of medicine includes various modalities, such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, and moxibustion, to help restore balance and harmony within your body.

What conditions can traditional Chinese medicine treat?

TCM can address an array of acute and chronic health conditions, including but not limited to pain management, digestive issues, women's health concerns, skin conditions, stress management, respiratory conditions, sleep disorders, and immune system support.

What typically happens during a traditional Chinese medicine consultation?

During your consultation, Dr Lim will conduct a comprehensive assessment that includes your medical history, current symptoms, and overall health. She may also examine your tongue and pulse, which are essential diagnostic tools in Chinese medicine. Based on this assessment, she will create a personalised treatment plan that will help with your specific concerns.

What should I wear to my appointment?

It’s best to wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment, as you may need to expose areas of your body for treatment, such as acupuncture points. Your clothing should be able to fold above the knees and elbows without obstructing blood circulation.

How many treatment sessions will be required?

The amount of treatment sessions required varies depending on the person and the nature of their condition. Your practitioner will discuss their recommended treatment plan with you during your consultation. However, most people usually go through a standard course of 10-12 sessions.

Is acupuncture covered by Medicare?

Unfortunately, no. You will need to pay out of pocket for the treatment sessions. However, if you have private insurance, you may be eligible to claim some of the cost back. It’s always best to check with your insurance provider to see what is covered.

How do you charge for your services?

We charge on a per-session basis. The first visit is A$100, and the subsequent visits are A$80 each. For cosmetic acupuncture, it is A$120 for the first visit and A$90 for each subsequent visit.

How can I pay for my services?

At Radiant Health Clinic, we use a HICAPS machine. We also accept the majority of private insurance and major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB. You can pay with cash or direct transfer.

Do you offer home visits?

No, we do not offer home visits. However, if your health is preventing you from coming into the clinic for treatment, please send us an email at hi@radianthealthclinic.com.au.
